"In the universe, there are things that are known,
and things that are unknown, and in between,
there are doors."
- William Blake

My goal as an educator is to equip all students with the tools necessary to get through these doors between the known and unknown with a desire for academic excellence and deep passion for Christ. Each door that I have traveled through has helped to create me into the person that I am today. I feel as a teacher, it is an honor to witness the same effect on my students.
My name is Meredith McDermott Willman and I am a graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa . I double majored in Elementary and Special Education with a minor in Spanish and focus on Catholic Studies. My Catholic Studies courses were in conjunction with my scholarship program The Breitbach Catholic Thinkers and Leaders. Through this program we focused on service, Church history, and great leaders of our faith. I am originally from St. Paul, Minnesota where I attended The Convent of the Visitation High School. It was here that I was able to learn from the amazing sisters of the Visitation. Through these wonderful women I developed my love of the Visitation and Salesian Spirituality. I am also the oldest of four children and one of thirty grandchildren.
I was married in July of 2014 to my wonderful husband, Tyler. Tyler is currently an ENT resident at UW. We met through the Breitbach program at Loras as he was a year ahead of me in the program. We also have an adorable cockapoo puppy named Briggs who we love to take on walks and spoil. He is a great big brother to our son, James! We have really enjoyed getting to know Madison, St. Peter's Parish, and look forward to our growth in this new place.
I am very excited to begin my sixth year as a teacher. I have taught for three years in Iowa at St. Columbkille Elementary, and am excited to begin another year as the 2/3 teacher here at St. Peter. I have loved teaching third grade, and deeply enjoy the special gift of adding second grade and the preparation of two sacraments! It is my hope that friends and family of our class support me as I continually support your children and help them to succeed academically and grow in their faith. Please feel free to contact me at any time for ideas, comments, or concerns. I very much look forward to working with you all this year! God bless you all and your families, you are always in my prayers!
